In my opinion PlayStation is improving their PSX every year in terms of showcasing fresh software for their consoles. Not just first and third party studios debut or update info on upcoming releases, but also indies get a lot of attention. This popularity can be mainly attributed to the gamers love for the weird, captivating and original stories. But also the quality of the indies has made a huge leap the last few years. 2017 will feature a lot of fresh ip’s from renowned studios from across the globe. Let’s take a look at some of them.
The first one of the PSX Indies I want to talk about is one of the studio that brought you Transistor and Bastion; Supergiantgames. In Pyre, you lead a band of exiles through an ancient competition spread across a vast, mystical purgatory. At the beginning of the game, your luck has almost run out when several masked wanderers find you and revive you from the brink. With your help, they seek to learn the truth about the Rites, a secretive competition through which the worthiest exiles can return home, absolved of their transgressions.
As you journey across the Downside in the wanderers’ custom blackwagon, you’ll meet a variety of characters of all shapes and sizes, and learn what’s in store for each of them should they prevail in the Rites. Your actions will determine who returns to glory, and who remains in exile to the end of their days.
The visual style, the mystery and magic which Supergiantgames put in their titles has always attracted me. So does this new story, but we have to wait a little longer. Keep an eye out for more info on the game here at GameGeekz, or visit http://www.supergiantgames.com/games/pyre/
Yonder is a two-dimensional cooperative adventure game with emphasis on traversal, discovery and companionship. Explore, solve puzzles and unravel a mystery together. You can decide to play Yonder by yourself or cooperatively. The adventure will revolve around interactions between the characters of the game and their surroundings.
Venturous are new to the PS4 indies world and are creating a lovely game which I cannot wait to try. The game has a beautiful, natural look and feel to it. And the characters and story seem so cute that I need to play it. Yonder is set for release in 2017 on Steam and PS4. Check back at GameGeekz for more info on the game at the beginning of 2017. http://yondergame.com/

Absolver puts players behind the mask of a Prospect, who has taken a sacred vow and chosen to join the Absolvers, an elite corps of combatants fighting to maintain stability in the world.
Monitored by the Guides, the new rulers of the fallen Adal Empire, players will wander these forsaken lands and encounter other Prospects online in order to learn their place in this world and eventually become Absolvers.
Along the way, they will learn new combat styles and attacks, and acquire better weapons, powers and armor. Battles between warriors are an intense real-time flow of attacks, dodges, feints and counters. And with all aspects of gameplay customizable, including combat styles, weapons and even individual attack sequences in the player’s Combat Deck.
Build a team of warriors to fight side by side with you in the dungeon mines of Adal (PvE) or put your skill on display in dedicated combat arenas (PvP) scattered across the land.
This fresh take on the combat genre, accompanied by the visual style make me want to know more. Maybe we’ll get our hands on some play time soon, and also see http://absolver.com/index.html for the latest info.
