Mad Catz announced that it has entered into an agreement with Capcom to create a range of next-generation Street Fighter V fighting game controllers for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system.

Expected to be available in time for the launch of the game, Mad Catz intends to launch an all new range of FightSticks, Tournament Edition FightSticks and FightPad controllers.
In addition to the new range of controllers, Mad Catz will feature as a ‘Premier Sponsor’ of the Capcom Pro Tour, a global series of competitive eSports gaming tournaments which will feature the latest flagship title of the legendary Street Fighter™ series. As part of a three year sponsorship agreement, Mad Catz will be the exclusive controller sponsor for the Capcom Pro Tour and will feature prominently at all Capcom Pro Tour events which will be available to view on Twitch.

“Street Fighter is the most renowned fighting game franchise in gaming and we’re excited to be part of Street Fighter V, the first title in the series to launch on PlayStation 4,” said Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz. “More passionate gamers choose our range of fighting game controllers over any other as they demand quality and precision to help provide a winning edge. We’re confident that our new range will continue to establish Mad Catz as category leaders and prove highly popular to established fighting game players and those new to the series.”

I absolutely love the Street Fighter branded Madcatz Sticks and Pads, I’m currently using the Street Fighter X Tekken V.S. Edition when I’m away or at small tournaments, and use the FightPad S.D. when I’m at home. I hope the new products will be as good as the ones I own now, I can’t wait to get my hands on the new product line.

There is a shortage of FightSticks on Next Gen and hopefully the Street Fighter V branded FightSticks and FightPads will give us our much need advantage while playing. While the Street Fighter V branded range of controllers will take its time to release, in a small window of time we can get our hands on the USFIV TE2 for PS4.

As mentioned before I use the FightPad when I’m at home, some people prefer a stick, but when I’m home I just want to sit on the couch and layback, this is where the Pads are great you have the advantage of a better controller than the generic, but still can hang back and relax. Good news for fellow Pad lovers MarkMan had following to say about the new lineup.

“For all the pad warriors out there, I am especially excited at all the possibilities and planning we’ve been doing for the forthcoming FightPad PRO (tentative name) as that’s the product we’ve been putting the most time into as of late. However, fear not arcade stick fans! Our new range of FightSticks we have up our sleeve are also going to be down-right fierce!”

We will inform you once more information on the Street Fighter V lineup is available.
