Ain't no thing like me, except me. I am the biggest half behind this website and love to write about my deep love for fighting games, (J)RPG's and Destiny. Really do not like Call of Duty and absolutely love pizza.
Five years ago during the San Diego Comic-Con Tekken X Street Fighter was first announced, now five years later there isn’t much to talk about Tekken X Street Fighter, or is there. Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada shed some light on the matter during a Famitsu interview.
The Interview is translated by Siliconera and gives us some more information on the long awaited Tekken X Street Fighter. Tekken X Street Fighter is part of the collaboration between Capcom and Bandai Namco, Capcom did his part when it released Street Fighter X Tekken in March 2012.
During the interview, Harada is jokingly asked whether Namco have forgotten about Tekken X Street Fighter. “That’s not true! I’ve been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we’re at a pretty far stage into its development,” responds the Tekken producer.
You might think Harada’s been too busy working on Tekken 7 which hit Arcades earlier this year, and Pokkén Tournament with the Pokémon Company. But according to Harada that’s absolutely not the case.
“It might seem like we haven’t started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago, and we’ve already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems,” says Harada.
With an complete new generation of fighting games banging on our doorsteps, the timing for Tekken X Street Fighter needs to be on spot with games Like Street Fighter V and Tekken 7 coming in the near future. So the timing for a Tekken X Street Fighter release is something they’re having a difficult time deciding on at the moment.
Let’s hope that next to Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V there will be room for Tekken X Street Fighter to shine in the best genre of gaming.
