Capcom gives a heartfelt thank you to all the thousands of players who have competed over the course of the 2015 Capcom Pro Tour season and everyone involved with making the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup 2015 so amazing.

These players, some of the best in the world, faced off against one another to get a piece of the $250,000 prize pool. Whomever took 1st place would claim $125,000 and the title of Ultra Street Fighter 4 World Champion.

The Grand Finals:

The Grand Finals was between two titans from Japan. Kazunoko, the world’s best Yun player VS MCZ|Daigo “The Beast” Umehara, who has the most wins in all of Street Fighter 4’s lifespan. Kazunoko got to Grand Finals through Winners Bracket. Daigo got there through the Losers Bracket, having been sent there by Kazunoko himself earlier. MCZ|Daigo Umehara was beaten pretty convincingly earlier by Kazunoko, but that was not the case in Grand Finals. Daigo tied the set up 2-2 and was 1 round away from resetting the bracket but Kazunoko took the victory! It was an amazing year for Kazunoko and he has won the biggest Street Fighter event ever, taking home the first 6 figure prize for fighting games. You can watch a replay of the Grand Finals below:

With the Capcom Cup 2015 behind us and our Grand Champion Kazunoko enjoying his victory Capcom has some things to say about this years Capcom Pro Tour:

“This year’s Capcom Pro Tour, with its thrilling finale at Capcom Cup 2015, was arguably one of the best years for the fighting game community. The Capcom Pro Tour, and the rewards it held, compelled more players than ever before to fly out to distant events to compete. The increase in the level of competition and the hunt for Ranking Points and qualifying spots brought a whole new level of excitement for players and spectators alike. It culminated in one of the most sensational events in the increasingly storied history of the fighting game community, and created many new moments to remember. Next year we hope to build upon this great foundation. There is another $500,000 up for grabs and for the first time in seven years there will be a completely new Street Fighter title taking center stage. It’s time for Street Fighter 5 to start its own chapter in fighting game history.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with making the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup 2015 so amazing. Thank you to all of the hard working tournament organizers and their staffs. Thanks to all of the players who competed and made the Capcom Pro Tour so exciting. Last, but not least, we would like to thank all of the fans and viewers who watched the events in person or via the live streams.

We hope to see you again next year for more great moments.”
