Matterfall To Release This August

Housemarque really blew our minds during Sony Playstation’s E3 media briefing. Not only did they show us the first Matterfall gameplay trailer, they also announced the game’s release date! Housemarque’s explosive PS4 twin-stick shooter Matterfall will release on 16th August.

This will be a good year for fans of Housemarque’s signature arcade action gameplay style. Starting next week we will finally be able to enjoy the studio’s brilliantly crafted, Nex MAchina. Followed by Matterfall in August. Matterfall will also be releasing on Blu-ray so those of us like me who still like to buy physical copies of their games will have something to put in their cabinets.

Be prepared to blast through explosive waves of contemporary arcade action from the makers of Resogun and Alienation. If you have played any of the studios previous games, Super Stardust, Resogun, Dead Nation or Alienation, you know a few of the things Matterfall will have in store for you this August: The studio’s signature lightning fast twin-stick action, brand new nerve-racking challenges and explosions… epic explosions, to be more precise. But Matterfall will also throw in a few new ingredients to the already deadly mix of arcade action fun.

With a combination of shooting and platforming, success relies on your control over Smart Matter, a mysterious alien resource that infected the world and threatens to wipe out mankind. Using your Matter Jet to generate Blue Matter, you will able to create platforms to further explore the environment or form shields to protect yourself while fighting off hordes of enemies in a frenetic bullet hell.

Avalon Darrow, the hero in charge of saving humanity, has at her disposal a great variety of weapons and powerful abilities which allow you to choose your loadout to maximize your style of play. Whether is the short range of a powerful shotgun or the calculated bounce of a grenade launcher, anything goes to rule the leaderboards and claim the world top spot.

Those who pre-order Matterfall will receive a Theme for your PS4, five avatars, and a copy of the kick-ass soundtrack when the game launches this August.
