Black Future ’88 is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch. Climb a tower full of action and danger in this 2D Synth-Punk title!

Good Shepherd Entertainment and developer SuperScarySnakes have announced that their 2D indie title will come to the Switch in a Synth-Punk style Black Future ’88. The game will be available later this year on Nintendo’s hybrid console and looks to be a Dead Cells-like sleeper hit.

Black Future ’88 is a Synth-Punk roguelike 2D action shooting game. You will have to climb a tower and defeat the owner at the top before your heart explodes. Run, shoot and dodge to defeat different traps and watch out for the murderous enemies. The intense-looking title lets players control one of five misfits as they negotiate a series of scrolling platform stages. Reacting quickly to an array of threats and hazards thrown at them.

It’s going to take lightning reactions, an itchy trigger finger, and some hardcore hand-to-eye co-ordination to climb each tower. And eventually defeat its warden, en route to taking down the architect of all of this chaos… erm… “Duncan. Black Future ’88 will feature co-op play, character buffs and effects, five unique zones and a bangin’ synth soundtrack. Worth keeping an eye on, this one.

Switch is already a console for the indie gamers of all ages, bringing gems like Katana Zero, Ape Out, BroForce, Oxenfree, GRIS and many more.
